we have some exciting news!

after some crunching of numbers & many nights awake talking about the future, we decided that it was time for me to leave my current job & look for a job that related to my degree. i'm sure a lot of you know this, but for those of you that do not, i am currently a full-time student in youth studies & women's studies. after i graduate & if everything works the way i would like, i plan to earn my certification in montessori teaching.

it was a very difficult decision to make, leaving the stationery shop. i've worked there for over two & a half years & i've grown close to my co-workers & boss. still, it was time to find something new so i applied to a wonderful montessori school in town & was hired! starting in june, i will be working full-time with kids ages 3 to 6. we'll be outside most of the time, working on various art projects {i've already gathered so many ideas!} & growing a garden in our tiny plot just outside of the school. also, some pluses are that the school is a block away from my house & i will no longer work weekends! i have two days off... in a row!

saturday was my last day at the stationery store so i have an entire month to finish projects around the house, de-clutter our home {possibly having a garage sale!}, work on our etsy shop, spend time in the garden & just relax.
i am looking forward to the new adventure ahead!

& to celebrate- i've included some images of our home {because that's where i'll mostly be for the next month!} that i took a couple of weeks ago in celebration of spring cleaning:

we moved the plants near the window to get more light. they were suffering during the winter months. it is so nice to have that little green space in our attic.

in our kitchen- the last of my jams, some bulk items ready for jars, my mom's canisters given to me & loose tea gifted from loved ones.

i moved the winter blankets off of the couch & replaced them with lighter ones, added framed photos of us & opened the windows to allow for natural light.

this is one of my favorite spots of our home because i love all of these books: inspiration bursting from each page!

& we brought our patio herbs outside for the summer {oregano, rosemary & cilantro}.

enjoy your day & thank you for reading!

love,
natalie

Congratulations! If you haven't read it, definitely find the book Sunflower Houses at your local library. I love it for gardening with children.
