the family table

when luke & i graduated with degrees in hand from missouri, we were confident that life would present itself with adventure. we were craving new opportunities & experiences in wisconsin, vermont or anywhere up north really. life happened as it does & we immediately landed in our home state of arkansas.

we had no idea adventure would happen here, in our home state, around the family table.

it has been such a gift to land, settle & grow roots in luke's hometown. our farm isn't too far from my family & just three short miles from the home where luke grew up. every week you will find us around this table enjoying a meal together with luke's family.

these are my people, my family.

& i'm so happy we didn't move to wisconsin.

love,
natalie

So glad you stayed near your family, and Wisconsin is a blessed place also, so nice for those of us who did move there.

You are so lucky to be so near! I am originally from NYC and my husband is from Colorado. We moved up to Vermont from Pennsylvania last year to begin farming full-time, and while we feel like we are making our home here, I dearly miss our families. Thanks for sharing your family table :)

Your photos and words are so beautiful! My 12 year old daughter was looking over my shoulder and thinks that your photographs are amazing....she too is a photographer. I think that it is a shame how families are so far apart these days. It is lovely how you live so close to your clan!

This is so well written! My hubs is in the Air Force, and we were so excited to move from Texas to Nevada, but after 3 1/2 years of being here, we are looking forward to going back home, permanently. Family is so precious. You are blessed to be so close!

Hi Natalie,
I was born and raised and still live in Columbia, MO. :) I love your blog! A coworkers introduced me to it. I work at the Public Library and open up your blog space every day at work. Helps to decrease stress from a busy day.
Just ordered a few items from your Etsy shop. So excited to get them in the mail.
A group of girlfriends and I are actually coming to AR next week for a Spring Break trip. We are renting a cabin in Yellville...and will be in Fayetteville on Thursday :) Any recommendations on must see places or good eats?
