2013 goals

luke & i have a tradition right before the new year of going to a quiet coffee shop & sharing our new year's goals with one another. it's such a special tradition for us because it brings us closer together as we embark on a fresh new year.

as luke & i shared our goals for the new year, i shared my idea of monthly goal setting - an idea created by elise to keep you motivated & on track throughout the year. i want to live an inspired & intentional life throughout 2013, and monthly goal setting will help me do just that. i will share my monthly goals in this space at the beginning of each month. my goals will be small & tangible, such as "print & frame photos." i hope to achieve most of my goals each month, but i don't plan to over-commit myself by doing so. this is a way to stay mindful & present instead of letting the year simply pass me by.

i love fresh starts & new beginnings. fresh starts help you forgive yourself & others. new beginnings help you say, "it's ok," & take that first step. i am hopeful for what this year holds & what i can create, make, say & do. i want to create more & share it with others. i hope to blog regularly as a way to slow down to reflect, and i want to learn to say "no" with grace in order to focus & do what i truly value.

my monthly goals will help me do just that. i will be back here on friday with my january goals!

happy 2013 to you! i would love to hear your goals for the new year! if you blog, share your link in the comment section. if not, just let me know what you're thinking so i can read about where you're headed!

love,
natalie

Have you read "The Last Lecture" by Randy Pausch or watched his original youtube video? So inspiring! Natalie {and others reading this}, I highly recommend it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ji5_MqicxSo This video completely changed the way I think about "life" and "dreams" and "to-do lists." Last year I spent a week writing down all my ideas for "New Year's Resolutions." Then, I looked at the list and decided what I actually have control of now. If it seemed too big, how could I break it down? I picked my top 10. It was such a success for me, I'm doing it again this year! I haven't finalized it yet. I'll share soon!
