happy monday! this weekend was wonderfully good. we packed a picnic & headed toward the kerr center for sustainable agriculture where luke now works. he showed me the many educational & research projects he is working on along with the beautiful landscapes this sweet, sweet place offers.
the kerr center is full of magic & i am excited to go back. i am so proud of luke's accomplishments & look forward to supporting him as he learns more & grows into his new career.

other things happened this weekend, too. i cooked an entire WHOLE chicken from the local monastery in town. oh yes, i did! after staring blankly at the chicken for a couple of days, i finally dug in in & roasted it successfully. we have made three meals from the meat so far & plan to use the bones for broth. on saturday, i spent the entire morning at yard sales & filled up the back of the car with vintage goodness. we also visited the farmer's market & picked up a beautiful bouquet of wild flowers & our first weekly order of raw goat milk.
a good weekend full of time together outside- i couldn't ask for anything more.
love,
natalie

My you're up early! It looks like a wonderful weekend! Ezra loved the picture of the cows. :) "Cow! Cow! Cow!" Love you. (P.S. I got my garden planted yesterday!)
sweet emily, i wake up early to make luke's lunch for the day :) also, it is nice to do outside chores in the morning when it is night 90 or so!
I am loving your sweet blog and tend too!
what a magical little jaunt! congrats to luke at finding such a niche job for himself, and good luck to you as you start with your vintage business! love the shot of the cows.
chicken from a monastery. How nice. I buy halal chickens rasied by mennonite farmers. Not organic, but whole and real, better than factory organic.
that sounds like THE perfect weekend. I can't wait until it's swimming weather here. Very exciting that Luke is working in such an amazing place.
I don't think you guys could BE any cuter!!
That weekend definitely made me feel like we can really make it here in the Arkansas River Valley. These are great pictures! I should just tell the Kerr Center to hire you as their staff photographer.
I love you!
sounds wonderful! i'm so glad you're making the best of your new homeplace- however hard and lonely it may feel at times. xo
