rhythm of the seasons

we are truly enjoying the long days of summer. we harvested the first tomato & cantaloupe from our garden. i am so proud of the herbs we started from tiny seeds. they are growing just enough for making pesto & drying for the winter months ahead. we made our first batch of pickles & have been blessed with cool mornings. cool enough for a bit of weeding & tending to the flowers.

i am finding that this space, my writing & most of my photographs reflect the rhythm of the seasons. as i grow into who i am, i feel myself also growing closer to nature, its landscapes, patterns & life. i've been searching recently for a new form for my blog to take. after almost three years of writing & changing radically as a person throughout, i do believe that my path is leading toward one that is sustainable & reflective of the seasons. i want to focus on the food we grow & eat, the choices we make in our home & the ease of simpler living.

if you have suggestions on how to improve this space or things you really enjoy about my blog, please do let me know. i know that i am so encouraged by your ideas & am thankful for the relationships that have flourished throughout this process.

love,
natalie

Your natural way of simply being who you are at any given time is what I appreciate most about you, Natalie. It seems your blog will naturally evolve along with you (as it has), into what feels best at the time. We are constantly evolving, becoming more of who we are, learning new things, new skills, learning more about ourselves, experiencing life. What ever you decide, if you decide to make changes here, I look forward to it. And if it just keeps evolving as it has, I look forward to that too :)

for me, it's posts like this. gorgeous snapshots of little corners of your life, and a couple of honest blurbs about your life and your aspirations.

I read your blog so I can hear your heart. Since we are not able to go out on flatbranch dates or sit down for coffee right now I depend on your honest thoughts and feelings to be written down here. I miss my friend. I'm so happy to feel apart of your life when you share it through words and images in this way. Love you.

I feel that your blog already reflects those things! I love the photos, they show how close you are to the seasons. the pickles, the cantaloupe, the herbs. just beautiful! I wish you were my mom. but that might be awkward.

i love the photos of your garden-- and the little day-to-day treasures in your home. i love your truthfulness about life--- the good and the rough.

this space is always so peaceful and lovely-- no matter what season or phase of life.

it's a pleasure coming here. i'm sure any changes you see fit will be a reflection of you at this moment and will be lovely.

I love your photos...they warm my heart. And I find it amazing that the way I grew up...with farmers all around me, more garden then yard...has become sacred to younger people in a way it wasn't back then....It helps my homesickness in more ways than I can say.

Yes, please! I would love to read more about all of those things...food, home, living, etc. I love hearing from people with goals similar to mine. :) You are doing a great job already.
